Amarte es mi pecado (My Love, My Sin) is a Mexican telenovela that was transmitted in 2004. It is a production of Ernesto Alonso and the protagonists are Yadhira Carrillo, Alessandra Rosaldo, and Sergio Sendel.
Plot
In the city of Pátzcuaro lives Leonora "Nora" Guzmán (Yadhira Carrillo), a beautiful woman, naive and full of illusions. She is envied by women and admired by men, but she only has eyes for Alfredo de la Mora (Alejandro Ibarra), a young singer without means. Her father, Jacobo Guzmán (Manuel Ojeda), continuously insists that she marry a rich and important man. Nora, to avoid upsetting him due to his health, keeps her relationship with Alfredo a secret. But after the death of Jacobo, Nora suffers great dismay when her ambitious and greedy stepmother Isaura (Silvia Pasquel) sells her to Heriberto Reyes (Antonio Medellín), the richest man in Pátzcuaro.
In defense of her honor, Nora wounds Heriberto; to avoid a scandal, he does not press charges against her. To escape the gossip around town, she moves to Morelia to live with her aunt Alejandra (Margarita Isabel).
In Morelia, Nora meets Arturo (Sergio Sendel). They surrender to each other in body and soul. Arturo loves her, but he has to go to a foreign country where they are offering him his dream job: to become a commercial airline pilot. Arturo promises that he will return to marry her, which makes Nora happy, and she plans the wedding without Alejandra's knowledge.
Meanwhile, Arturo meets Paulina (Alessandra Rosaldo), a journalist. They become good friends. After a night of drinking, they discover that they have slept together. They have to part due to ineludible obligations. Upon her return to Mexico, Paulina tells her fiancé Juan Carlos (René Casados) what happened. He is very understanding and insists that they should go on with their wedding plans, but Paulina is having second thoughts because she has fallen in love with Arturo.
Nora learns that she is pregnant with Arturo's child, but before she can tell him, Arturo gets a call from Paulina informing him that she is also pregnant. The feeling of responsibility forces Arturo to tell Nora what happened. She feels betrayed, so she does not tell Arturo about her pregnancy. She decides to raise her child alone and dedicate herself completely to him. However, when Nora gives birth, Nora's stepmother Isaura lies and tells her that the baby is stillborn, and then gives the baby to Casilda (Tiaré Scanda), Nora's cousin. Casilda turns out to be Nora's half sister; she is the daughter of Alejandra, who raised her as her godchild.
Fate has taught Nora how cruel it could be. Completely destroyed, Nora swears that she will never fall in love again, and she remakes her life with one objective: to use her beauty to get revenge and to exploit men. Now a hard and cold-hearted woman, she is determined to make a fortune from whomever she meets and to find a way, at any cost, to get revenge on Arturo, the man that she wants to hate with all her soul but whom she cannot stop loving, because loving him will be her sin.
