In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the alu-demon (/ˈæluːdiːmən/ AL-oo-dee-mən)[1] is a female demon, the result of a succubus mating with a human.
Publication history
The alu-demon was one of the new demons that debuted in the module Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth (1982),[2] and then appear in the first edition Monster Manual II (1983), under the demon entry.[3]
In second edition AD&D, demons became known as tanar'ri, with the alu-fiend least tanar'ri appearing first in the Monstrous Compendium Volume Outer Planes Appendix (1991).[4] The alu-fiend lesser tanar'ri also appeared for the Planescape campaign setting in the first Planescape Monstrous Compendium Appendix (1994).[5]
The alu-demon appears as a template in Dragon #355 (May 2007).
Description
The alu-demon appears as an attractive female humanoid, with demonic features.
Other publishers
The alu-demon appeared under the "demon" heading in the Tome of Horrors (2002) from Necromancer Games.[6]
