AlphaSense is a privately held technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2008 with institutional and private venture funding. [2] The company is the creator of AlphaSense, a specialized search engine for financial services professionals, launched in January 2011.

History

AlphaSense, Inc. was founded by Jack Kokko and Raj Neervannan in 2008 to apply advanced linguistic search technology to assist investment professionals, to find information in company disclosures. In 2010, AlphaSense launched its search engine utilizing natural language processing to search through all major filings, earnings calls, conference transcripts and other related documents. In 2012, the search engine added company investor relations presentations for the Russell 3000 constituents to their database of searchable content.

In 2013, the firm announced an expansion of its global data set to include more than 20,000 companies across 60 countries.[3][4]

In 2014, the company expanded their searchable data set to include research reports from top brokerages.

Product

AlphaSense is a specialized, web-based financial search engine providing users with the ability to search, navigate, annotate and analyze corporate filings and other research documents for critical data points. The product uses a blend of proprietary linguistic search and natural language processing algorithms to index every word and passage of text in documents released by public companies worldwide.
