Ali Aliev (Russian: Али Зурканаевич Алиев; born November 29, 1937 – January 7, 1995) was an Avar Dagestani born-Soviet Union freestyle wrestler.[1] He is five time World champion. First wrestler from Dagestan who won World Freestyle Wrestling Championships. Since his death the Russian wrestling federation has hosted the annual Ali Aliev memorial International wrestling meet at the Ali Aliev Wrestling Training Center (Sport Complex) in Kaspiysk, Dagestan.[2] He participated in the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics.[1]
