Alexis Amore (born Fabiola Melgar García;[1] December 29, 1978) is a Peruvian pornographic actress and feature dancer.[4]

Early life

Amore was born in Lima, Peru and raised in Redondo Beach, California, United States.[3] Her first language is Spanish.[4] She once worked as a nurse at a Catholic hospital.[3]

Career

Amore worked as a model and host for Playboy TV shortly before debuting in porn.[5] She was discovered on an episode of Night Calls.[3] She entered the adult film industry in 1999 and did her first scene for The Watcher 6 from Vivid Entertainment,[6] in which she performed double penetration with Bobby Vitale and Erik Everhard.[7] In 2001, she took a one-year hiatus from performing, during which she continued feature dancing, and returned in the summer of 2002.[3]

In March 2003, Amore became a contract performer for Jill Kelly Productions.[8] Shortly after her contract with JKP ended, she signed a performing and directing contract with Anabolic Video in June 2004.[9] Once her deal with Anabolic Video ended, she became an exclusive contract performer and spokesperson for Video Team in September 2005.[10] She made her debut for the company in the film All About Alexis.[11] She also signed a contract with California Exotic Novelties in October 2005 to develop her own signature line of sex toys.[12] In January 2006, she launched her website, ClubAlexis.com, which was hosted and designed by ClubJenna.[13] In September 2006, she decided not to renew her contract with Video Team.[14]

In January 2008, Amore announced that she would resume performing in boy/girl sex scenes after two years of only working with other women.[15]

Mainstream media appearances

Amore modeled for Nordstrom at age 15 and was a dancer on MTV's The Grind prior to working in porn.[3]

Amore has appeared on the television show NYPD Blue.[8] On August 1, 2003, she was interviewed by Telemundo.[16] In June 2004, Frecuencia Latina filmed a documentary on her for the show Reporte Semanal.[17]

In March 2006, Amore appeared on the Spanish language television shows No te Duermas and El Poder in Puerto Rico.[18]

Amore was featured on the cover of the September 2006 issue of Lowrider.[19]

In August 2012, Amore announced via Twitter that she wasn't going to appear on El Gran Show as previously announced by host Gisela Valcárcel because the show's producers never contacted her.[20] Producer Ricky Rodríguez later confirmed that Amore was rejected due to the possibility of losing sponsors for having a pornographic actress on the show.[21]

Other ventures

In early 2003, Amore hosted a show titled Recipes for Sex on KSEXRadio for three months.[8] On October 22, 2014, she launched a show titled That’s Amore on Vivid Radio.[6]

On December 7, 2004, Amore debuted as a columnist on AVN Insider with a column titled "Simply Alexis".[22] She had previously written a sex advice column for the mainstream Peruvian magazine Oye.[22]

Personal life

In 2009, Amore began to undergo tattoo removal sessions to get rid of a Playboy Bunny below her navel, a crown, and the letter "a" on her wrists.[23]
