Alexander Albon (born 23 March 1996 in London, England) is a Thai racing driver. He has raced in different racing series, winning championship titles in the 2006 Super 1 Honda National Cadet Championship, 2008 Kartmasters British Grand Prix-KF3, 2009 Formula Kart Stars-KF3, 2009 KF Winter Series-KF3, 2009 Super 1 National KF3 Championship, 2010 CIK-FIA World Cu-KF3 and the 2010 European Championship KF3. He became a part of the Red Bull Junior Team in 2012 and in 2013 he was announced by the Lotus as one of the official junior drivers of Lotus F1 Junior Team Program/Lotus.

Personal life

Alex is a Thailander who was born in London, England. His father is a former BTCC and Porsche Carrera Cup driver, Nigel Albon, who encouraged him to race in karts.

Career

Alex started racing in karts, competing in different series in Europe and Asia in 2004-2011 and then made his debut in Formula Renault 2.0 in 2012.

Formula Renault 2.0

Since the 2012 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup series season as his debut race he was first race for EPIC Racing and then KTR on 2013 Formula Renault 2.0 series season.

EPIC Racing (2012)

From karting Alex graduated to the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup series where he drove for EPIC Racing in his first year in 2012 alongside Kevin Giovesi, Dennis Wusthoff, Konstantin Tereschenko, Kevin Jorg, and Christof von Grunigen and finished in 28th position in the championship with no points.

KTR (2013-)

In 2013 Albon joined KTR to race in the 2013 Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 season alongside Yu Kanamaru and Ignazio D'Agosto and finished in 28th position in the championship, with one fastest lap, one pole position and 22 points overall.
