Aldo Mamadou Nidaye Colliander (born 4 June 1978) is a Swedish boxer. He was born in Senegal but moved in 1987 with his mother to Farsta, Sweden. They moved to Skarpnäck when Aldo was 16 years old. It was there that he started to train for boxing.
As an amateur he had 58 matches, of which he lost only eight. He won the Swedish championship twice. His coach is Stefan Färström.
One of Aldos losses was against Cuban fighter Odlanier Solis by decision.[1]
Swede Aldo Colliander became boxing gala hero. Despite a broken right hand he beat American Robert Daniels of points. - I will become world champion, he shouted after the game. Aldo Colliander unexpectedly won the heavyweight brawl against former world champion Robert "preacherman" Daniels boxing gala in Scandinavium. After the match, told Colliander, who is ranked 179 in the world, he boxed with a broken right hand. - I broke my hand when I sparred Tuesday. I hit him in the forehead and broke his hand, he said to TV4 Plus. During the game the trainer Leif Carlsson urged him to "sacrifice your right hand." - I wanted to be here and I wanted to win here, shouted a sweaty Colliander after the game. - I will become world champion! Despite the home ground was the Swede booed by the audience afterwards. Colliander had no high opinion of the visitors in Scandinavium. - They can not, they're just full. Paolo Roberto put the rating at the gala: - Boxing was above expectations. Some amusing, some bad. Then the arrangement could have been a little better, says Roberto for the first boxing gala in Sweden in 37 years.
