Albania participated in the Türkvizyon Song Contest for the first time at the Türkvizyon Song Contest 2014 held in Kazan, Tatarstan. The Albanian broadcaster, Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH) has been the organiser for the Albanian entry since its début in 2014, their first participant, Xhoana Bejko, was chosen internally by the national broadcaster, as well as Visar Rexhepo and Xhoana again in 2015.

History

On 25 September 2014 it was confirmed that Albania would make their official début at the 2014 Song Contest to be held in Kazan, Tatarstan.[1] For a short period of time it appeared that Albania had withdrawn from the contest, the official website Turkvizyon.tv removed all mention of Albania from their website.[2] On 12 November 2014 it was confirmed by Xhoi that she was still participating and that she would be singing "Zjarr Dhe Ajer",[3] the song was later partially translated into Turkish for the contest. As the official website published the preliminary participants list for 2015, Albania was not among them, but a few weeks later it was confirmed that the country would be back for 2015.
