Ahn Daniel (Hangul: 안 다니엘; born August 16, 1994), better known by his stage name Niel (Hangul: 니엘), is a South Korean idol singer, dancer, actor and promotional model. He is best known as the main vocalist of the South Korean boy group Teen Top. Niel released his first EP titled oNIELy on February 16, 2015.[1]
Career
On July 10, 2010, Niel made his debut as a member of Teen Top with their debut album Come into the World, performing the title track "Clap" on MBC's Show! Music Core.
Solo
On December 26, 2012 it was announced that Niel, alongside Beast's Yoseob, 2AM's Jo Kwon, MBLAQ's G.O, and Infinite's Woohyun would participate as a 5-member one-time unit named Dramatic Blue for the their song, "Tearfully Beautiful", for SBS Gayo Daejeon's The Color of K-Pop.[2] In 2013, he featured in Fanta's Advertising song "Fanta Time" alongside A Pink's Eun-ji and Lee Kwang-soo.
On January 5, 2015 it was announced that Niel would be making his official solo debut in February.[3] on January 27,at the program of Mnet's "4 Things Show" Niel releases self-produced track 'Affogato' which will be included on his first solo album.[4] The official music video for his title song "Lovekiller" came out on February 16 which will feature rapper Dok2.[5] His solo mini album "oNIELy" which contains seven songs was released on the same day and topped the Gaon chart. On April 14, Niel released his repackaged album "oNIELy `Spring Love`", as well as the music video for its title track "Spring Love" , featuring singer-songwriter Juniel.[6][7]
On May 15, 2015 Niel and other artists such Exo, Sistar and Ailee sang a KBS1's Special Program 'I Am Korea' theme song "The Day We Meet" for Gwangbok 70th Anniversary."[8]
Early life
As a child, Niel dreamed of becoming a soccer player, but he became interested in acting when he saw the child actor Yoo Seungho in the film The Way Home. With his mother's support, he began attending acting school, and was cast into his first drama "Children's Chorus" in fifth grade. Later, Niel was inspired by Michael Jackson's Ben and began to pursue singing instead, while also starting dance lessons.

Variety show
Niel first appeared on the variety show "Star Cam" with Teen Top in 2010. From December 2014 to January 2015, he participated in a variety show called True Justice as a cast member.[16] In August 2015 Niel join SBS TV Program "The Racer".[17]
