Ahmedabad Cantonment is situated between Ahmedabad city and Gandhinagar in the state of Gujarat in India.[1]
History
The cantonment site was chosen by Sir J. Malcolm in 1830.[2]
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[3] Ahmedabad Cantonment had a population of 14,713. Males constitute 60% of the population and females 40%. Ahmedabad Cantonment has an average literacy rate of 81%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 65% of the males and 35% of females literate. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
