Major General Sheikh Ahmed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Arabic: أحمد بن راشد آل مكتوم) (b. 1950 in Bur Dubai, Dubai) is the Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police & Public Security. He is the current Chairman of the Al Wasl FC club located in Dubai.

He is the fourth and youngest son of the late ruler, Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum (1912-1990). His elder brothers Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum are the Deputy Ruler and Ruler of Dubai respectively.

Thoroughbred horse racing

Since the 1980s, Sheikh Ahmed's family has been heavily involved in Thoroughbred horse racing. His horse won the 1999 running of the Dubai Golden Shaheen in his native Dubai. Racing in the United Kingdom, his Thoroughbred racehorse Ameerat won the 2001 1,000 Guineas and Mtoto captured the 1987 and 1988 runnings of the Eclipse Stakes and Prince of Wales's Stakes plus the 1988 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. His horses have also won Group One races in Ireland, France, Germany and Italy including the Irish St. Leger, Prix de la Salamandre, Grosser Preis von Baden and the Derby Italiano.
