African Bank Limited (ABL), commonly referred to as African Bank, is a commercial bank in the Republic of South Africa. It is licensed as a "locally-controlled bank" by the Reserve Bank of South Africa.[1] The bank is a subsidiary of its holding company called African Bank Investments Limited (Abil). The bank's headquarters are located in Midrand, South Africa.[2]
With effect from 16:00 on 10 August 2014 African Bank has been placed under curatorship by the South African Reserve Bank.[3]
Recent news
In August 2013, African Bank Investments said it would sell its furniture unit and raise cash in a rights offer.[4]
