Adolphe Ganot

Adolphe Ganot (born 1804 in Rochefort, Charente-Maritime, France; died 1887 in Paris[1]) was a French author and publisher of physics textbooks. His textbooks are said to have made, during the second half of the nineteenth century, "a decisive contribution to physics and its teaching on an international scale".[2] His popular "Treatise on Physics" (French: "Traité de Physique") was translated in a number of languages.[1][3]
