Adi Kapyare Kootamani is a 2015 Malayalam comedy film directed by John Varghese[2] starring Mukesh, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Namitha Pramod,[3] Aju Varghese, Neeraj Madhav, and Bijukuttan.[2] The film is jointly produced by Sandra Thomas and Vijay Babu under the banner of Friday Film House and Carnival Motion Pictures.[4][5] Shaan Rahman has composed the soundtrack and background score for the film.[2] The film was released theatrically on 25 December 2015.[2]
Plot
The story revolves around a bunch of college students living in a boy's hostel.[6] The story unfolds over a period of four days in the hostel. Problems begin when a young woman enters the life of those students.[7]

Production
Filming commenced on 7 September at University Hostel Campus in Thiruvananthapuram.[8] The title of the film Adi Kapyare Kootamani was revealed on 8 September 2015,[2] and it shows a church bell with the Christmas weather as the backdrop, giving it a festive mood.
Music
The music was composed by Shaan Rahman.

Box office
The film collected ₹2.24 crore (US$330,000) in 3 days of release,[9] and subsequently grossed ₹4.6 crore (US$680,000) in a week's time.[10]
Sequel
In December 2015, producer Vijay Babu confirmed that there would be a sequel to the film, titled Adi Kapyare Kootamani 2.[11]
