The Black Tip Acraea or Black-tipped Acraea (Acraea caldarena) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is found in southern and south-eastern Africa.
The wingspan is 40–50 mm for males and 45–55 mm for females. Adults are on wing year round, with a peak from August to April in southern Africa.[2]
The larvae feed on Passifloraceae species, including Tricicleras longepedunculata and Adenia species.
