Acanthus ilicifolius, commonly known as Holly-leaved Acanthus, Sea Holly, and Holy Mangrove is a species of shrubs or herbs, of the plant family Acanthaceae, native to India, Sri Lanka, Asia, Malesia, Australia and Pacific Islands.[1][2]It is a small shrub growing along lakes and marshes and sea shores.It is used as medicine in asthma and rheumatism.[3][4]
