Abu Dhabi Tour is a men's cycling stage race that takes place in the United Arab Emirates. It is part of the UCI Asia Tour is rated by the UCI as a 2.1 event, the third tier of professional stage races.[1] The race will take place in October, towards the end of the cycling season, occupying a similar place in the calendar to the cancelled Tour of Beijing. The Abu Dhabi Tour is organised by RCS Sport, which also organises the Giro d'Italia and the nearby Dubai Tour.[2]
The first edition of the race is planned to include four stages, three of which are flat and suited to the sprinters and one of which is a mountain-top finish at Jebel Hafeet. The final stage will be a circuit race around the Yas Marina motor-racing track that will take place at twilight, as does the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The race organisers also announced plans to host an "international Cycling Gala" on the final day to celebrate the end of the cycling season and expressed hope that the race could form part of the UCI World Tour in future years.[3]
