Abdul Alim (27 July 1931 – 5 September 1974) was a Bangladeshi folk musician.[1]
Career
Alim recorded over 300 Gramophone records.[1] He also sang playbacks in over 100 films.[1] He recorded songs for Mukh O Mukhosh.
Awards
Alim was the recipient of several civilian awards for his contributions to Bangla music. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer in 1974 for playback in Sujan Shokhi. He was also posthumously awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1977 and Independence Day Award in 1997.[2]
