Abay (Kazakh: Абай ауданы, Abay awdanı) is a district of East Kazakhstan Region in eastern Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is the selo of Karauyl.[2] Population: 15,228 (2013 estimate);[1] 15,258 (2009 Census results);[3] 17,885 (1999 Census results).[3]
