2004 AFC Cup
The 2004 AFC Cup was the 1st edition of the AFC Cup, playing between clubs from nations who are members of the Asian Football Confederation.
Qualification
The 'developing' 14 nations in the Asian Football Confederation were invited to nominate one or two clubs to participate in the 2004 competition.

Al-Wahda (San'a') withdrew after not obtaining financial support from Yemen's Ministry of Sports and Youth for their trip to Damascus where they were to play their first match away at Al-Wahda (Damascus); they were ejected from the competition and banned from the next edition of the AFC Cup for which they qualify.
