Anbanathapuram Vahaira Charities College (abbreviated A.V.C. College) is a college in Mayiladuthurai, India. It was founded in 1955, and received autonomous status in 1987.

History

A.V.C College belongs to the A.V Charity. Sri S. Ramalingam Pillai sowed the seeds of A.V. Charities in 1806 in memory of his beloved son Thiru Velayutham pillai.[1] A.V. Charities began its educational services by starting the A.V.C. (Autonomous) college in 1955.[2] A.V. Charities serve as beacon light in the field of education to the innumerable youth with rural background.[3]

Sports

A.V.C college won the men's and women's state level volleyball title, held in Dalmiapuram, which was organised jointly by Dalmia Cement Limited and Tiruchi District Volleyball Association (TDVA).[4]
