9 Story Media Group (formerly 9 Story Entertainment)[2][3] is a Canadian animation studio and distribution company, founded in September 2002[4] by Vince Commisso and Steven Jarosz. The company’s distribution arm, 9 Story Media Group[5] (formerly named 9 Story Enterprises,[6]) was launched in September 2006.[4]
It was announced on April 7, 2013, that 9 Story Entertainment acquired the family catalog from CCI Entertainment.[7]
It was announced on October 10, 2014, that the company was re-branded as 9 Story Media Group, shortly after media entrepreneur Neil Court, became an equity investors in the organization along with Zelnick Media.[3][2]
On August 18, 2015, the company acquired Brown Bag Films.[8]
On October 6, 2015, 9 Story announced a new long-term partnership with Hit Entertainment to relaunch iconic pre-school brands ‘Barney & Friends’ and ‘Angelina Ballerina’.[9]
