6894 Macreid (1986 RE2) is a main-belt asteroid discovered on September 5, 1986 by E. F. Helin at Palomar. It was named in honor of Macgregor S. Reid, Ph.D., a widely respected manager at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, upon his retirement in 1998[1] after 30 years of service to the lab, the United States space program, and international standards.[2]
