6537 Adamovich, provisional designation 1979 QK6, is a stony asteroid from the inner regions of the asteroid belt, about 4.5 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered by Soviet–Russian astronomer Nikolai Chernykh at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in Nauchnyj, on 19 August 1979.[5]

The S-type asteroid is a member of the Flora family, one of the largest groups of stony asteroids in the main-belt. It orbits the Sun at a distance of 1.7–2.6 AU once every 3 years and 3 months (1,174 days). Its orbit is tilted by 4 degrees to the plane of the ecliptic and shows an eccentricity of 0.20.[1] Photometric light-curve observations at the Palmoar Transient Factory in 2013 gave it a rotation period of 2.4±0.1 hours with an amplitude in brightness of 0.13 in magnitude,[4] while the Collaborative Asteroid Lightcurve Link (CALL) assumes an albedo of 0.24, a typical value for asteroids with a stony surface composition and identical to the albedo of the family's namesake, 8 Flora[3]

The minor planet was named in memory of Aleksandr Mikhajlovich Adamovich (1927–1994), Byelorussian writer, publicist and literary scholar. Adamovich exhibited a harmonious combination of talent and civic responsibility.[2]
