4593 Reipurth
The asteroid 4593 Reipurth was discovered on March 16, 1980, by Claes-Ingvar Lagerkvist. It was named in honor of Bo Reipurth, then a staff astronomer at the European Southern Observatory in charge of the Schmidt Telescope. Reipurth was unaware of the asteroid's name until years later, when he found himself on an intercontinental flight with nothing to read except a list of minor planet names.
