The 2016 Tirreno–Adriatico will be the 51st edition of the Tirreno–Adriatico cycling stage race. It is scheduled from 9 to 15 March as the third event of the 2016 UCI World Tour.[1]

Route

The route for the 2016 Tirreno–Adriatico was announced in December 2015 in Camaiore, where the race will begin. The first stage will be a 22.7-kilometre (14.1 mi) team time trial on the coast. The second stage – the first road stage – will be suited to the classics riders as it finishes on a climb, while the third and fourth stages have flat finishes and will therefore suit the sprinters. The fifth stage will be the queen stage of the race: it will include five categorised climbs, finishing with the 13-kilometre (8.1 mi) ascent of Monte San Vicino. The sixth stage will again suit the sprinters. The race will end in San Benedetto del Tronto for the fiftieth consecutive year with a 10.1-kilometre (6.3 mi) individual time trial to decide the final standings.[2]
