The 2016 Summer Olympics torch relay will run from April 21 to August 5, 2016, in advance of the 2016 Summer Olympics. After being lit in Olympia, Greece, the torch will travel to Athens on 27 April. The torch will begin its Brazilian journey on 3 May, visiting more than 300 Brazilian cities, including all 26 state capitals and the Federal District. The Brazilian leg will begin in the capital, Brasília, and end in Rio de Janeiro's Maracanã Stadium, the main venue of the 2016 Olympics.[1]
