The 2016 Fiesta Bowl (December) will be a college football bowl game that will be played on December 31, 2016 at the University of Phoenix Stadium stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This 46th Fiesta Bowl Game will be played by two at-large teams. It will be one of the 2016–17 bowl games that will conclude the 2016 FBS football season. Sponsored by BattleFrog, the game is officially known as the BattleFrog Fiesta Bowl. The winner of the game will receive The Fiesta Bowl Trophy.[1]

The game will be televised on ESPN with a radio broadcast on ESPN Radio.

The game will be one of the 2016 College Football Playoff semifinals, along with the 2016 Peach Bowl.[2]

It will be the second game to be called "the 2016 Fiesta Bowl", as the previous season's game was played on January 1, 2016. The previous two Fiesta Bowls were also played in the same calendar year as each other.
