2016–17 Formula E season
The 2016–17 FIA Formula E season will be the third season of the FIA Formula E championship starting September 2016 in Montreal.[1]

Rule changes
- The maximal weight of the battery cells will increase from 200 kg in season two to 230 kg for season three.[8]
- The permitted amount of regeneration will be increased to 150 kW (previously 100 kW).[9]
- The overall weight of the car will be reduced from 888 kg to 880 kg.[8]
- Maximal power output will remain limited at 200 kWh for season three, but will later be increased to 220 kWh in season four and 250 kWh in season five.[9]
Calendar
The season was announced to begin in Montreal in September 2016.[1] An ePrix in Hong Kong has also been added to calendar, tentatively to be held in October 2016.[10]
