January
- 8: One day after the Charlie Hebdo shooting in Paris, in the evening of 8 January, over a 100 demonstrations against the shootings and for freedom of speech and press were held from 18:00 in the Netherlands at the time of the silent march in Paris, after the mayors of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht and later more mayors called to do so. Many Dutch government members joined the demonstrations.[1][2]
- 29: A gunman tries to take over the NOS news studio because he wanted to say something (unknown) to the Dutch audience. He got arrested later that evening by the Dutch police.
March
- 18: Dutch provincial elections and water board elections.
September
- 8: The VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam is fully evacuated after parts of the hospital were flooded because of a burst in a major water-pipeline. (DutchNews)

- February 4: Ellen van Dijk wins stage 2 of the 2015 Ladies Tour of Qatar.
- February 12-15: In the Thialf Arena in Heerenveen take the 2015 World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships place.
- Netherlands at the 2015 World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships: The Dutch team won both the gold and overall medal tallies, with 5 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals.
