- 23 March – Former Singapore Prime Minister and also "Architect of Modern Singapore" Lee Kuan Yew, died at the age of 91 in Singapore General Hospital at 3:18 am.
- Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has declared a seven-day period of national mourning and the funeral will be held on March 29.
- The state flags on all government buildings would be flown at half-mast for the mourning period, which starts on March 23, and ends on March 29.

- The funeral procession of Lee Kuan Yew from the Istana to Parliament House.
- Thousands of Singaporeans queued to pay their last respects to former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, who lay in state at Parliament House.

- 4 July – The 156-year-old Singapore Botanic Gardens has officially declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
- 7 July - Largest MRT breakdown in Singapore (the magnitude is more than the 2011 Singapore MRT disruptions) due to the power fault. All the train stations in the North South Line and East West Line were closed as a result, to the extent of a lot of commuters switching to many activated bridging modes of transport, to prevent the simultaneous earthquake.

- 7 August to 10 August – Singapore celebrated its 50 years of independence (National Day Weekend). 7 August 2015, is also declared as a public holiday.
- 18 August – Set of six SG50 commemorative notes unveiled by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)
- 25 August – Parliament dissolved for paving way for General Elections.
