Teams

All but one of the twelve teams from the 2014 championship are participating in the top tier of Kilkenny hurling in 2015.

Mullinavat, who defeated St. Patrick's by 0-17 to 0-14 in the final of the intermediate championship in 2014, availed of their right to automatic promotion to the senior championship.

Similarly, Fenians defeated Tullaroan by 3-10 to 0-8 in the 2014 senior relegation play-off, and so Tullaroan were relegated to the intermediate grade for 2015.[6]
