1 The rules for the 4 Wide Nationals differ from other races:

2 Due to poor track conditions and rain, Final Eliminations were run on May 19.

3 As a result of weather and darkness, only the Top Fuel final was completed at Brainerd. Funny Car and Pro Stock (car) for those classes were completed at Lucas Oil Raceway during the U. S. Nationals qualifying.

4 Rain and track conditions ended the Pep Boys Carolina Nationals after one round of Top Fuel and Funny Car, and half of the first round of Pro Stock (car) had been finished. As a result, eliminations for the Carolina Nationals were run during the qualifying rounds of the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals. Top Fuel and Funny Car ran three remaining rounds, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle ran all 4 rounds.[3][4]

Notable events

Morgan Lucas announced on October 14, 2013 that he was stepping aside from his full-time ride and announced his replacement driver, Richie Crampton.[5]

Tommy Johnson, Jr. will now drive a funny car for Don Schumacher Racing, replacing Johnny Gray.[6]
