The 2001 season of the Tonga Club Championship, previously known as the Lion Shield and the Tongatapu Inter Club Championship, was the tenth recorded season of top flight association football competition in Tonga with the results of any competitions that took place between 1972 and 1981, 1986–97 unknown.^[1] Lotoha'apai won the championship, their fourth recorded title and the fourth of eleven consecutive titles.^[1]
