The 2000–01 Charlotte Hornets season was Charlotte's thirteenth season in the National Basketball Association.[1] With the acquastions of Jamal Mashburn and P.J. Brown from the Miami Heat, the Hornets finished the season with a 46–36 record (third in the Central Division), and qualified for their sixth Playoff appearance. The Hornets swept the third-seeded Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference First Round, but were eliminated by the Milwaukee Bucks three games to four in the Conference Semifinals. The Hornets finished twenty-first in NBA in attendance for the season.
