The 1st Infantry Brigade (Liwa’ al-Awwal Masha’) is a unit of the Free Syrian Army active in Idlib Governorate. On 7 September 2014, the 1st Infantry Brigade allied with four other rebel groups, including the Knights of Justice Brigade, into a new formation called the 5th Corps. It received TOW missiles from the US-backed “Friends of Syria” alliance.[2]
