The 1999 season of the Tonga Club Championship, previously known as the Lion Shield and the Tongatapu Inter Club Championship, was the ninth season of top flight association football competition in Tonga with the results of any competitions that took place between 1972 and 1981, 1986–97 unknown.^[1] Lotoha'apai won the championship, their second recorded title and the second of eleven consecutive titles.^[1]
