The 1997 season of the Samoa National League,[1] was the eighth reported season of top flight association football competition in Samoa, with results between 1986 and 1996 unknown.[2] Kiwi won the championship, their third title.[2] Kiwi also won the cup final, beating Vaivase-tai abandoned at 3–2 when a Vaivase-Tai player refused to leave the pitch after being sent off.[1]
