The 1987-1988 John Player Special Cup was the seventeenth edition of England's premier rugby union club competition at the time. Harlequins won the competition defeating Bristol in the final.[1] The event was sponsored by John Player cigarettes and the final was held at Twickenham Stadium.[2]
