The 1983 Coral UK Championship was a professional non-ranking snooker tournament that took place at the Guild Hall in Preston, England.[1] The event began on 21 November 1983 and the televised stages were shown on BBC between 26 November and 4 December 1983. The highest break of the tournament was 139 made by Tony Meo.
Alex Higgins staged one of his greatest dramatic comebacks to beat Steve Davis 16–15, coming back from 0–7,[2][3] to win his only UK Championship title.[1]
