The 1956 NCAA Men's Division Ice Hockey Tournament involved 4 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college ice hockey. It started on March 15, 1956, to March 16, 1956. The National Championship Game was on March 17, 1956. A total of 4 games were played at Broadmoor Arena in Colorado Springs. The 1955–56 Michigan Wolverines men's ice hockey team won the program's sixth national championship in nine years by defeating Michigan Tech in the finals.
