The 1936 U.S. National Championships (now known as the US Open) was a tennis tournament that took place on the outdoor grass courts at the West Side Tennis Club, Forest Hills in New York, USA. The tournament ran from 3 September until 12 September. It was the 56th staging of the U.S. National Championships and the fourth Grand Slam tennis event of the year.[1]
Fred Perry's victory would remain as the last Grand Slam tournament won by a British man until Andy Murray won the US Open in 2012, 76 years apart.[2]
