Cricket formats first-class and "elevens"

The 1865 English cricket season saw the first-class debuts of WG Grace and Lancashire CCC, who were both to play very important roles in the development of the game for the remainder of the century. It also saw the first four-figure first-class batting aggregate, and the first multiple ten-wicket innings in one season.
