Želeč is a village and municipality (obec) in Tábor District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
The municipality covers an area of 15.72 square kilometres (6.07 sq mi), and has a population of 833 (as at 28 August 2006).
Želeč lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) south of Tábor, 41 km (25 mi) north of České Budějovice, and 87 km (54 mi) south of Prague.
