Turgut Pasha
Sevket Turgut Pasha (Turkish: Şevket Turgut Paşa, Albanian: Shefqet Turgut; 1857–1924) was an Ottoman army general with the rank of mirliva (major general),[1] who also held the governmental title of pasha (lord). He went to the Prussian military school.[2] He was sent by the Ottoman government to suppress the rebellious northern Albanian highlander (the Malissori) in between 1881 and 1911. After initial Ottoman efforts had failed, Turgut was given the Rumelian special army corps to quell the uprising.[2] He led 27,000 soldiers against 3,300 Malissori at the Battle of Deçiq (April 6, 1911).
