Łopianów [wɔˈpjanuf] (German: Loppnow) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Gryfice, within Gryfice County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) south-east of Gryfice and 68 km (42 mi) north-east of the regional capital Szczecin.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany and was the ancestral home of the von Loppenow family. Following World War II the native German populace was expelled and replaced by Poles. For the history of the region, see History of Pomerania.
