Zydeco Junkie is an album by the Zydeco band Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, released in 2010. Highly praised, it received the 2010 Grammy award for Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album.[1] Jamie Bergeron and Geno Delafose make special guest appearances.
Reception
Dan Willging of OffBeat Magazine gave the album positive reviews citing the focused vocals and originality of the album.[2]
Music video
On June 1, 2011 Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band released a music video for their song, "Zydeco Junkie".[3] The video was produced by mightylions1 Media.
A month later, the video was approved by MTV to air.[4] Although the video has yet to be played on the television network, it gained over 1,000 views in the first 2 days of being on MTV's website and received positive feedback from users.[5] "Zydeco Junkie" is the first Zydeco music video to be posted on MTV.
In April 2012 "Zydeco Junkie" became the first zydeco or cajun music video on YouTube to be available for 3D viewing.
Awards
Zydeco Junkie won the Grammy award for Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album.[1] Also, it won the Best Zydeco Album from OffBeat Magazine for 2010.[6]
