Zorana Arunović (Serbian Cyrillic: Зорана Аруновић) (born November 22, 1986 in Belgrade, SR Serbia, Yugoslavia) is a Serbian sport shooter. She is the world champion of 10 metre air pistol, and was named as Serbian Sportswoman of The Year for 2010.

Career

She began to practice shooting in 2001, starting at the club Policajac, and then moved to Crvena Zvezda. For this sport is interested because of the older sister Jelena (Јелена), who is also a successful shooter.

At the European Championship 2004 in Győr, together with other members of the junior team Arunović won a silver medal and in 2005 in Estonia she won the bronze. 2006 at the European Junior Championships in Moscow she won individual and team gold medal. Arunović also won bronze in the junior team in 10 m Air Pistol and individual gold in 25 m Pistol at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Zagreb. At the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara she won the gold medal.

Arunović has won many medals, but most importantly has won on the 2010 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Munich. She won the gold medal in 10 m Air Pistol, individual and team silver medal, along sister Jelena and Jasna Šekarić in 25 m Pistol. She became the first sportswoman from Serbia that has provided the advent of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

In September 2010, she climbed to first place in the list of the ISSF in the air pistol event.[1] Olympic Committee of Serbia has declared for the sportswoman of the year.[2] Arunović received Serbia's sport association "May award" in 2011. She won the silver medal at the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen.

Zorana participated at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She finished 4th in the Women's 25 metre pistol, and 7th in the Women's 10 metre air pistol.

Personal

She has studied Ukrainian language, Russian and English.[3] After the 2010 earthquake in Kraljevo, Arunović donated 20,000 RSD for help.[4]
