The company was founded in September 2011. It was the first major grocery company in India which got funded. The company raised money from Accel Partners, Times Internet and Qualcomm ventures.[2] In April 2014, company started selling fresh vegetables and fruit. In October 2014, they closed down their own warehouse in favour of omnichannel experiment with Hypercity. In December 2014, ZopNow started free delivery across orders of all sizes.

Technology

ZopNow uses mobile devices extensively for their internal operations and logistics. To enable fast delivery, the Times Group funded company has deployed GPS in all delivery vehicles and importantly equipped all its delivery personnel with a smartphone, so that when a consumer places order- its flashed across all employees involved in order fulfillment. The real time order flashing helps Zopnow to collect order basket (SKUs) in less time.[3]
