Zhang Bichen (simplified Chinese: 张碧晨; traditional Chinese: 張碧晨; pinyin: Zhāng Bìchén; born September 10, 1989 in Tianjin, China) also known as DiamonD Zhang, is a Chinese female singer. She was a member of Sunny Days, a South Korean band. In 2014, Zhang Bichen took part in the third season of The Voice of China. She was the winner of this season.[3]

She is fluent in Mandarin, and understands English, French and Korean.[4][5]

Biography

Early Career

Zhang Bichen was born in Tianjin on September 10, 1989. She was admitted to Tianjin Foreign Studies University to study French.

2009-2013: South Korea period

Zhang went to South Korea in 2009 as an international student. In 2010 she went to Haeun Entertainment, a South Korean management company, became a trainee.[2] In 2012 she joined Sunny Days, a South Korean band.[6] She exited this band in 2014. In 2013, Zhang Bichen won the winner of China zone of "K-pop World ceremony 2012"(K-POP世界庆典2012).[4]

2014-: New career beginnings

In 2014, Zhang Bichen took part in the third season of The Voice of China. She sang JJ Lin's "She says" (她说) in episode 2. She was chosen by Na Ying, one of the four judges in the contest, who later became her coach.[7]

She became the winner of this season, when she sang Wang Zhengliang's "Where does the time go?" (时间都去哪儿了), and defeated Parhat's "Why the flowers are so red"(花儿为什么这样红).[8]

In November 2014, Zhang sung one of the songs for Chinese drama "The Young Doctor" (青年医生), entitled "Between a kiss" (一吻之间).
